About A Modest Proposal
Who are we? We're a couple dozen college students (though we wish there were more of us than that) at The University of Texas at Dallas. On the first of the month, eight months out of the year (four in fall, four in spring), 2000 copies of A Modest Proposal are set about campus in big red bins, just waiting to be picked up and loved.
We convene a story meeting some time during the first two weeks of the month, and stories are typically due on the Friday of the third week of the month, roughly two weeks ahead of our first-of-the month release (see our calendar for specifics); Once stories are in, we spend a week(end) holed up at AMP HQ (MC 3.612) laying out pages and poring over proofs and corekting our atroshus spelning erorrs. Then the PDFs are sent off, printed, and delivered to us -- ream upon ream of recycled pulp and inky goodness.
From time to time we'll participate in or hold other events, such as the Homecoming parade and layout and photoshop training sessions, so check the calendar and subscribe to our Google Group to find out about upcoming events.
